The Edge Swim Club is designed for competitive swimmers, and those who are new to the sport of swimming. The coaching staff works with each swimmer on their individual goals, whether it be striving to qualify for New England or National Championship meets, staying fit, or improving technique. The Edge Swim Club prides itself on providing a challenging yet fun environment while providing each athlete the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Stroke Development Clinic
Session I: September 14th- October 22nd
Session II: October 26th- December 10th
(no classes the week of November 22nd)

Stroke development is for swimmers who have never participated in competitive swimming. Athletes will work on developing freestyle, backstroke, breastroke, and butterfly. Also, swimmers will start to build endurance and strength in the water. The clinic is an excellent way to prepare for the Edge swim team!
Requirements: Swimmer must have passed Red Cross Level 3, or pass swim skills assessment given by coach on first day of clinic. To move on to Junior Team, swimmers must be able to swim: 25 yards of backstroke, 25 yards of freestyle with rotary breathing, forward flip in the water, 10 yards of dolphin kick
Pre-Season Clinic
Monday, September 14th- Friday, October 22nd
This is an excellent way to get a jump start on the winter season. Swimmers will be divided into groups based on age and ability level. The focus of the clinic is stroke, turn, start improvement, and increased strength and conditioning.
Junior Team Schedule: (Maximum of 3 practices per week)
(Age 5-10: swimmer must be able to swim one length freestyle and one length on their back)

The Junior Team focuses on skill development. Swimmers will learn to swim all four competitive strokes and be introduced to flip turns and racing starts. The Junior Team is an excellent way for swimmers to learn while having fun in the water!
Skill Requirements: Swimmers must be able to swim one length freestyle, one length backstroke, and be able to do a forward flip in the water.
Swimmers are encouraged to attend one meet per session!

Age Group Development

Age Group Development is for swimmers with swim team experience. Swimmers must demonstrate basic proficiency in all four competitive strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breastroke, and butterfly.
Athletes will continue to refine all strokes and intently focus on all starts and turns. Swimmers will learn to use the pace clock and to become familiar with structured workouts. Swimmers are required to attend one meet per session, and are encouraged to attend at least one travel meet.

Age Group Performance

Age Group Performance is geared to swimmers with advanced swim team experience and who are working towards, or have, qualified for Regional Championships or 12 and under Championships. Swimmers must swim 100 yards of freestyle and backstroke, 50 yards of butterfly and breastroke, and 100 Individual Medley. Athletes will focus on advanced stroke and turn technique, and increase endurance and conditioning.
*Swimmers are required to attend at least one meet per session, and are strongly encouraged to attend at least one travel meet.

Senior Development and Senior Group

Senior Development and Senior Group are designed for swimmers who want to compete, and qualify, for New England Championships, Sectionals, and Junior Nationals. The Senior Team is for swimmers who want to reach their full potential and take their competitive swimming to the next level. These groups will include intense swim training, dry land activities, strength training, race strategy, and goal setting. This group provides skills to be used in and out of the water. The program will teach the importance of time management, goal setting, perseverance, and working with a team towards a common goal.
Senior Development: Ages 11 and up
Senior Development makes the transition from Age Group Performance to Senior Team Williston: M/W/F 5:30-7:30 pm & Tuesday/Thursday 6:00 pm -8:00 pm Saturday 8:30-10:30 am (2 per month) Practice Requirement: 4x per week
Senior Group: Ages 11 and up (Williston Only)

This is a program for swimmers who are looking to stay fit and have fun! Swimmers should be familiar with freestyle and backstroke. Coaches will work on developing stroke technique, but mainly on fitness, building endurance and strength. Swimmers can attend up to 3 practices per week.
